Sightseeing

If you want to see a Colorado town untouched by time, visit Gold Hill. Gold was discovered in a small narrow stream in January 1859 by a group of prospectors who followed an old Indian trail up Four Mile Creek. This stream, named Gold Run, was said to have yielded $100,000 in gold during the first year. Today, people like Gold Hill despite (or because of) the isolation from city life, and they live here despite (or because of) the quixotic climate at high altitude. Gold Hill Museum and live music Friday nights at the Gold Hill Inn & Bluebird Lodge.
