Food Scene
This is a tiny, simple but elegant restaurant serving whatever the fresh fish of the day is battered with chips. A very nice wine menu to go along with it. You sit on high stools at the small bar counter or against a counter running along the wall. This is a two minute walk from the apartment, very popular with locals and right next to two of the best bars in Dublin - Frank Ryans and the Dice bar.

This is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment. Located in the local, trendy neighbourhood of Stoneybatter, it is a popular bar with locals with a restaurant area out the back. Food is locally sourced and made with love! Good quality, good value and very tasty. They also provide whiskey recommendations to accompany the food but have a full bar and wine menu otherwise. Personal favourites include Irish black pudding with rhubarb coolie for starters and the Hake or Chicken Kiev for mains - but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

L. Mulligan Grocer

Staff are very friendly and there are good photo ops at the top of the lifts where there are swings hung from the ceiling!!

Wide range of fresh, locally sourced ingredients with Middle-Eastern influence. Particularly good for vegetarian food although they cater to meet eaters too.

Largest city park in Dublin, hosts Dublin zoo and the President's residency. Also home to wild deer. Lovely spot for a walk, cycle or picnic. Bikes for hire at the entrance and a couple of lovely cafes within the park.

The grounds of the old Kilmainham military hospital are beautifully kept - the courtyard area and the formal gardens are very peaceful to walk around. It also hosts the Irish Museum of Modern Art which I highly recommend. Only 10-15 minutes walk from the apartment, beside Kilmainham Gaol, another popular sight-seeing location. Please note this is the opposite direction from the centre of town.

A little off the beaten track but only a ten minute walk from the apartment. Teelings is a more modern (and hipster!) alternative to Jameson's. They offer whiskey tastings, distillery tour and there's a nice café if you just want to get some lunch.

13-17 NewmarketA little off the beaten track but only a ten minute walk from the apartment. Teelings is a more modern (and hipster!) alternative to Jameson's. They offer whiskey tastings, distillery tour and there's a nice café if you just want to get some lunch.
Less well known than the library at Trinity college but really beautiful and fascinating history. Very close to apartment and right beside the beautiful St. Patrick's Cathedral.
