Located on 100 acres, this cosy 2 bedroom farm house is on the outskirts of Bombala and just over an hours' drive to Jindabyne or the beautiful South Coast. Tastefully renovated with a modern kitchen, wood fire and verandah overlooking the neighbouring paddocks, it will feel like you're on the farm, but still in town. An easy 1.5km stroll or short drive to cafes, shops, town centre and the iconic Bombala River walk where you may even spot a platypus. Comfortably sleeps 2 but can sleep up to 4.
The original weatherboard farmhouse was built in early 1900's and was renovated 7 years ago. It has 1 bedroom with a queen bed (fitted with luxury linen) and a second room with a single bed and spare mattress upon request. This room does not have a door but provides a decent level of privacy, away from the main bedroom.
Ideally, the house would suit a couple, two adults or a small family.
There is a well equipped modern kitchen and a comfortable dining room. Continental breakfast and free range eggs are provided for all our guests. Warm up or cool down with reverse air cycle or curl up on the lounge in front of the wood fire. The modern bathroom has a shower and a washing machine.
Enjoy the sunset or sunrise from the verandah with a view over the horse and cattle paddocks.
There is a seperate entry to the back duplex of the house that is occupied by the owner (and two kelpie dogs). You will have access to the entire front duplex of the house with complete privacy. The owner is extremely quiet or can be available if you're after some local knowledge !
The street is very quiet with minimal noise and parking is permitted on-site.
Bombala is a quiet but charming country town that is just over an hours' drive to the snow or the surf! Make sure you take the drive to the Bombala Platypus Reserve where you will more than likely spot platypus in our pristine Bombala River. Otherwise, the 2km River Walk loop is a must-do, making sure you also check out the historic railway station. Be sure to grab a coffee and a healthy snack from Kitchen Eighty-Ate, the mobile catering van positioned on the town side of the bridge. Take a short drive or hike up to the beautiful and serene Bombala Reserve for panoramic views over the town and on a clear day, spot the ice-capped Snowy Mountains in the distance.
Travel a few minutes to Coolumbooka River for trout or redfin. Apex Park offers a lovely spot for a picnic or a playground for the children.
