“Situated in the heart of Seminyak and quoted as truly one of Bali's most exquisite hotspots, La Favela opened its doors in mid 2013 and was again the brainchild of the hugely creative and talent husband and wife team, Gonzalo and Sandra Assiego. Originally a small shop and home, La Favela was designed and built over the course of 2 years. It was a labour of love. It was originally a nice house but structurally challenging, it required years of alterations and everyone said they were crazy but for Gonzalo, it was a passion. He built La Favela like he was building his own home. Nobody goes to that much effort just to make money. This very small place and this very complicated process became our fixation and our passion. Lafavela Bali is completely crazy and totally magical, La Favela drew its original concept and vintage design, intimate cosy heavily decorated corners, and Graffiti and stencil art adorned walls from around the globe! Inspired by the jungles of Bali and Indonesia, the favela's of Rio to the underground bars and clubs of London and New York through the early 90's, La Favela was designed to captivate. ”

Hindu Temple
“The view is breathtaking. At low tide, you can walk out to the temple but the view of the temple at high tide is still worth seeing. Sunset is the peak time to go and this is very crowded. You have to get through an avenue of tourist shops offering all the usual Bali products to get to the temple. There is even a couple of snakes on offer for a photo opportunity.”

“Beautiful view of the cliff and the beaches in the southern part of Bali are beautiful. Start a day trip at around 10 pm to see the Uluwatu temple, then head to one of the beaches and spend an afternoon there (Bingin is my favorite spot) and head back in the evening (just after Sunset), grilled seafood dinner on the way home in Jimbaran Bay. ”

“Rising from the rugged hills of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, the magnificent Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue stands watch over the island. The towering statue is Bali’s most iconic landmark and depicts the Hindu God Wisnu, atop his mount, the mythical eagle, Garuda. The Garuda is the national emblem of Indonesia, an enduring symbol of freedom from oppression. Soaring to a height of over 120 meters, this is one of the tallest monumental statues in the world, higher than both the Statue of Liberty and Christ the Redeemer. The statue makes a stunning central feature of GWK, a fascinating 60-hectare cultural park that draws visitors from around the globe and provides a tantalizing glimpse into Bali’s fascinating heritage through intriguing cultural performances, legendary folklore tales, immense sculptures, and dramatic cinematic presentation. Enjoy panoramic island views as you explore the park on foot or by Segway. Indulge in Indonesian heritage cuisine, immerse yourself in a land steeped in mythology, or plan your next big event in one of GWK’s epic venues. Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue depicts Wisnu riding Garuda. In Hindu mythology, Lord Wisnu is seen as the protector of the Universe, while his trusted companion, the mighty eagle-like Garuda represents loyalty and selfless devotion. Kencana means gold, and both are adorned in crowns of gold mosaic. The Garuda is also the national emblem of Indonesia and represents freedom. Designed by renowned Balinese artist Nyoman Nuarta, the statue is made of copper and brass and features 754 modules with 25 steel segments weighing in at a hefty 900 tons, with a steel weight of 1300 tons. The statue and pedestal is 120.9 meters high with a width of 64 meters thanks to Garuda’s wingspan.”
