Das ruhig gelegene Appartement in einer ehemaligen Marmeladenfabrik wurde im Januar 2012 mit Liebe und sicherem Gespür für schönes Interieur eingerichtet. Unzählige echt Berliner Kneipen haben die ganze Nacht offen und für den Appetit zwischendurch gibt es Imbissbuden mit Döner, Pizza und hausgemachten Burgern erster Qualität. Fünf Minuten sind es bis zum Künstlerhaus Betanien, zehn Minuten bis zum „Badeschiff“, einem Schwimmbad mit auf der Spree schwimmendem Ponton, von dem aus Sie große vorbeifahrende Schiffe bewundern können. Viele der Möbel stammen aus der Vorstandsetage einer ehemaligen Sauerkrautfabrik in Brandenburg – entdeckt von einem befreundeten Locationscout während der Dreharbeiten zu einem Filmprojekt. Für Komfort und Wohlgefühl stehen Ihnen ein großes helles Bad mit Badewanne und Dusche, eine Küche mit Induktionsherd, Mikrowelle, diversen Küchengeräten wie Wasserkocher etc. und eine praktische Waschmaschine zur Verfügung. Schnelles W-LAN und TV mit Kabelanschluss sorgen für schnelle Internetverbindung und gute Unterhaltung. Gleich unten im Hof gibt es zwei Spielplätze – wenn Sie mit Ihren Kindern kommen – und eine große Gemeinschaftsterrasse für alle mit Blick über die Spree. Ein guter Platz, um nach einem Tag in Berlin ein wenig die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Alle Räume sind geprägt von einer durchgängig großzügigen Gestaltung, die Klarheit schafft und Freiräume lässt. Die kunterbunten Bilder der Hausherrin, einer aus München stammenden Kunstmalerin und Illustratorin, machen gute Laune und schaffen eine künstlerisch inspirierte Atmosphäre. Hausgeschichten Das Haus in der Köpenicker Straße 10a hat eine lange Geschichte. Auf den Trockenwiesen der Kattundrucker und Wollfärber an der Spree wurde das Gebäude im Jahr 1911 im Jugendstil erbaut. Die Mieter dieser Zeit waren Handwerker, Kaufleute und Offiziere – in zweien der Quergebäude ließ sich die Helmut Aust Marmeladen-und Konservenfabrik GmbH nieder. Direkt hinter dem Gebäude bestand bereits seit 1817 die von Ernst von Pfuel gegründete Flussbadenanstalt, die erste Militärunterrichts- und Schwimmbadeanstalt Berlins, die bis 1933 fortbestand. Die Pfuel´sche Badeanstalt prägte das Bild aller weiteren Berliner Flussbäder, die auf Pfählen errichtet wurden und ein vor neugierigen Blicken geschütztes abgeschirmtes Wasserbecken besaßen. Über die Jahre wurde das Anwesen immer wieder modernisiert – vom ursprünglichen Charme der Gründungszeit ging dabei bis heute nichts verloren. Das Apartment verfügt über automatische Rolläden, sodass die Räume auf Wunsch komplett abgedunkelt werden können.

The gallery and apartment is owned by an artist, who designed the space to show his work. Guests will have access to the whole gallery, but for rent is only the private apartment adherent to the gallery, including a small kitchen, a combined living sleeping area with a loft style bathtub and attached separate bathroom with shower. The other sleeping area can be separated by movable walls and has an extra bathroom with shower and toilet as well. Guests also have access to the back yard until 10 pm. Our aim is, to welcome all our guests personally and show them around and help them getting started in Berlin. Since we are also living in Berlin we are happy to help if any difficulties occur during the stay. It's Mitte, means closed to all cultural attractions, shopping and nightlife, but still quiet and you don't feel like living in a "bar". I like to call it the "new quiet Mitte" since recently a lot of luxury apartment buildings were constructed next to existing architecture, so it's for Mitte a pretty quiet neighbourhood, but Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße are all within easy walking distance (10min) Subway station (U-Bhf) Spittelmarkt 2 min walk. Mitte neighborhood is within walking distance to many of the city's iconic locations such as Checkpoint Charlie with superb shopping, dining, and nightlife nearby as well. There is easy access to public transport making exploring easy and convenient.

My apartment is situated in the trendy “Prenzlauer Berg” neighborhood. The apartment is on the 1st floor (Amer. 2nd), facing the quiet inner yard, well lit through two large French windows. The view features a restored factory and studios. The studio area is 40 square meters in size, contains a double bed, a mini kitchen containing everything to chill and cook. The studio has a lucid corridor and a luxury bathroom containing a shower and bathtub and underfloor heathing. The entire apartment is 60 square meters in size and tastefully furnished, mixing modern and classic design notes. Fast internet is available. The neighbourhood is very well liked and one of the trendiest in Berlin. Bakeries, coffee shops, bike rentals, public parks and a supermarket are in the immediate vicinity. The world renowned “Mauerpark” with its many attractions and flee market (on weekends) is 15 minutes by bike. The street is nonetheless quiet, situated between two large boulevards, with fantastic public transportation to the ariports as well as other central landmarks, and quarters, such as Alexanderplatz, the East Side Gallery, Mitte, Friedrichshain etc. You can walk to the Kastanienallee und Alte Schönhauser Allee, two hip shopping boulevards. A lot of young people live here, I am sure you will love it!
