Homestay in Central Vilanculos

Enjoy easy access to everything from this perfectly located home base. This is a one bedroom home with a large fully stocked kitchen and is perfect for travelers looking to get away from the usual tourist experience. We welcome guests looking to stop for a couple of days and it is also perfect for those looking to stay longer term in Vilanculos. The house is located on our family property so while the house and patio are private, guests should expect to see family members and ducks in the yard.

Dhow Blue * Tofo Beach

Dhow Blue is a beach house with incredible views over the Indian Ocean. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom. It can accommodate up to 6 people, when we transform the living room into a bedroom. The rooms have AC and fans and one fan in the living room. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, a fridge with a freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, mixer, water filter (8L), kettle and Delta expresso-coffee machine, among other accessories. Outside there is a grill.

Casa Por do Sol deserves its name: behind the prime dune and slightly elevated you're guaranteed to see Tofo's beautiful sunsets. Located near enough to the heart of Tofo with its vibe, bars and restaurants, you're just far enough away to enjoy relaxing moments in our stunning garden. Within two minutes of walking you will reach the endless beach of Tofo and have a cooling swim in the ocean. Casa Por do Sol includes another cottage (Golfinho) and the main house and can sleep 10 people in total.

Enjoy some of the best sea views of Tofo Beach from Boutique Vila Maresias. The property has been rebuilt in 2023. Tucked away in lush dune vegetation and on site of a stunning coconut forest, Vila Maresias is located on a 1 hectare private property with direct beach access. Hosting four bed rooms, three bathrooms, several outside varandas, Starlink WiFi, outside showers, a superbly equipped kitchen, a pizza oven, outside barbecue area, as well as an open living room and a welcoming host team.

From its perch, 100 meters to the Indian ocean you can take in the whole bay as your eye is drawn to Bazaruto's trio of islands in the distance – the best view in Vilanculos. After a two-year long term rental, the property has once again become available to stay (June 2025). The 5 bedroom house benefits from the sea breeze that channels its way through the bay ensuring you stay cool even through the hottest of Mozambican summers.

On the front of a breezy, palm-lined dune this spacious, airy, beautifully-crafted, rustic on the outside, well-equipped within wooden house has spectacular views over Barra Beach. Made from local materials, the house blends into the surrounds. Inside it's excellently kitted with ironwood floors, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable mattresses, mosquito nets and bedding. Sea breezes keep it cool and surprisingly mosquito-free, even in mid-summer. Has to be seen to be breathed and believed.
