Seneca Rocks, diverse eateries, unusual shops, Blackwater Falls and Canaan State Parks, Dolly Sods, four ski resorts, Otter Creek, four excursion trains, a dinner music theatre, four festivals,and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory are all nearby.

"Trout & About" Cabin located in Bemis, WV is the perfect place to unplug & enjoy the Appalachian Mountains located just 50 ft off the banks of the Shavers Fork River. Come enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking to Mule Hole & take a train ride to High Falls. Drive over the hill to Glady you will find the walking & bike trails of the West Fork Rail Trail. Come disconnect and unwind while taking in the beautiful WV mountains and fresh air. Please note there is NO cell service in the area.

Located in the pristine Mill Gap Valley. At night you can reach out and touch the stars. National Forrest is close by too. Enjoy the peace and tranquility that can only be offered in Highland county. Built in 1857, this 2nd floor suite offers antiques furnishings, a private entrance, master bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and mud room. It has a queen bed, dresser, large porch with views of the river, a clawfoot tub with shower, sink, toilet, and a well stocked farmhouse kitchenette with a double induction cook top, sink , fridge and more. We do not offer a TV. Near Elkins.

You can also stay in and enjoy the mountain view without ever leaving the back porch.

It lies at the edge of the Dolly Sods wilderness, has forest views from every room, and a sauna. The location provides easy access to tons of hiking and is only 2.5-3 hours from Washington DC. It's as close as you can get to Dolly Sods without camping! 4WD needed in the winter.

Glady Hideaway

Glady Hideaway is a quaint one room cabin perfect for two wishing to escape the chaos and spend some time one on one. Here, you can stay “unplugged” if you desire. Wi-Fi is now available but please note connection can be unreliable and slow at times in the mountains. The surrounding area offers many outdoor activities and charming mountain towns to explore. AWD/4WD is required from early December to March.
