Explore Cliffs and Castles near a Shepherd's Hut Hideaway

Ideal location if cycling or walking the South Downs, visiting Glyndebourne ,doing tours of either Rathfinny vineyard or the Long man brewery,exploring the beautiful National Park or just escaping the city for a weekend . They have own area for sitting and alfresco meals but are welcome to potter around the garden which is in its infancy and gardeners are welcome to add their advice on planting etc ! I am delighted to meet guests and am here to answer questions .I have been in the tourist trade for twenty three years running Centres at Bewl Water and SevenSisters Country Park so am happy to help with advice on where to visit ,best places to eat locally etc .However I am also very aware that guests come to relax,chill out and enjoy their privacy.So I will not intrude unless invited to 态 The hut is in the Village of, about 15 miles east of Brighton, in the South Downs National Park. Directly on the South Downs way;ideal for a stop over for cyclist and walkers. It's close to castles, stately homes, vineyards and, The High street offers colorful shops and excellent cafes and restaurants Close to mainline station to and from London. This quiet, charming retreat a step away from the bustle of village life offers privacy and relaxation. A little gem of an oasis! Parking is available in my drive.There are bus routes to Seaford and Eastbourne.The Railway station at Berwick is main line to Lewes, Gatwick and Victoria London . If you are visiting at the weekend you are advised to book if going out for a meal.I am happy to recommend places to eat .arriving by train Berwick station is only ten minutes away (mainline from Victoria) but remember to book a taxi to get to Alfriston ,Polegate and Seaford are the nearest taxi services.

The Annex, Berwick, East Sussex

Light and spacious self-contained Annex, separate from the main house with it's own private entrance. Being within two miles of the South Downs National Park and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are surrounded by idyllic countryside, lovely villages and pubs, and only 6 miles from the sea. The Space: Our Annex is comprised of a spacious double bedroom, with king-sized bed and luxurious bedding, a large lounge, a shower room, and a kitchenette, equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, tea & coffee making facilities, washing machine and dryer. Breakfast included. We have two friendly dogs, who have access to our garden and house, but not The Annex. Guest Access: Private entrance. Disabled accessible throughout, including shower. Ample parking. Access to the back garden and patio on request, due to our two friendly dogs. Interaction with Guests: We are a friendly couple, who love to make our visitors welcome, and will also respect your privacy, as you prefer. The Neighbourhood: We are in a rural village, with a small railway station, two pubs, a Post Office and garage. Perfect for walking, cycling and exploring the many local sights, Berwick village train station is only two minutes walk away, with easy access to Brighton, Eastbourne and Lewes. Ample on-site parking means you can leave your car in our drive whilst you explore by foot, bicycle, or train. Local sites include the historic village of Alfriston; Beachy Head, the Cuckmere Valley and the Seven Sisters; Charleston Farmhouse; Firle Place; and Glyndebourne, to name just a few!

A wonderful opportunity to stay in this cosy, secluded cabin situated in the famous Cuckmere Valley & South Downs National Park. The cabin is set within a beautiful landscaped garden, in the quaint village of Litlington. A 2 minute walk to the Long Man Brewery and Plough & Harrow pub. A 20 minute walk across the valley takes you to Alfriston and Rathfinny Vineyard. Litlington is 3 miles from Cuckmere Haven, from here the footpath can be continued along the Seven Sisters cliffs to Beachy Head.

Snug Victorian Cottage in Heart of Alfriston Village

My house has been described as light and "cosy". It is filled with books, art and interesting things - it is very much a home from home, and not a holiday let. In the winter there is a log burner, in the summer a sunny flint walled garden. Nestled within the South Downs National Park this medieval village has independent and quirky shops, lots of choices of where to eat. Walks to enjoy - nearby is the sea, forest, vineyards, Downs or riverside. London 2 hours by car, 90 mins by train.

The Cart Lodge a cosy rural hideaway

Situated in a secluded part of our 16th century farm, this detached, south facing cart barn has been converted to a very high standard. In an ideal location overlooking a large duck pond and with distant views to the South Downs. It is a great base for walking the Wealdway or cycling the Cuckoo Trail. Places to explore include Lewes and Eastbourne, 9 miles. Glyndebourne 6 miles. An excellent pub and restaurant is within a ten minute walk along country footpaths. The village shop 2 miles.

Beautiful barn on the South Downs Way

Beautiful barn, perfect for walkers, also great as a comfortable and spacious base for exploring the local countryside. Local cultural attractions include Glyndebourne, Drusilla's Park, South Downs Way. This spacious artist's home is located right on the South Downs Way, and it is only about an hour and a half walk to the coast at Exceat. There is a tree house for kids, a couple of swing seats for chilling out on, and the Cuckmere runs through the bottom of the garden.

Garden Lodge is situated just off the South Downs Way on the edge of Alfriston village. Sited in the back garden of the main house there is access to a private patio area and to the garden. There is farm land bordering the property with views to the Downs. Numerous pubs, hotels and shops are just five minutes walk away in the village centre. It is very dark here at night so if you are not accustomed to it, think about bringing a torch.
